Jeff Adam - Rest in Peace
06/28/2011
It is an extremely difficult and dark day for me as I must report the sad news that a member of our Westwind Family, Jeff Adam, has passed away.
Jeff was a US Sailing level 1 Instructor and had worked with Westwind for the past 4 years. Besides being a gifted sailor, he made his mark in our school as a kind and dedicated instructor who was thoroughly committed to the success of his students. He was respected by all of our Westwind Family and his unique ease and demeanor made everyone around him smile and feel comfortable.
Jeff passed away early Sunday morning from what is believed to be Meningococcemia, an aggressive strain of Meningitis. He was 22 years old.
The official memorial service will be held at the Dana Point Yacht Club, Tuesday, July 5, 4:30 pm. Everyone is invited and there will be appetizers served after the eulogies.
An informal 'Sail Out' will be held at the OC Sailing & Events Center on Wednesday, June 29th at 5 pm. Everyone is welcome. The sailing community: Westwind, Mariners, DPY
C are getting together for an informal race & sailing event. Jeff’s Sabot will be anchored in the basin to keep watch over us all. Afterwards, we’ll gather at the Events Center/Youth Docks for a casual bbq, bonfire, a memorial for Jeff.
